MCHS Graduate’s Artwork Selected for D.C. Exhibit

Hokyum Kim's "Effort" one of 44 pieces to be displayed in prestigious Washington D.C. art show.

The artwork of Mill Creek graduate Hokyum Kim is one of 44 pieces to be showcased at the national level as part of The President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities exhibit.

Kim’s piece “Effort” was among those selected from nearly 500 works of art that earned a National Gold Medal in the 2011 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Kim was one of only six GCPS students honored as national winners during the 2011 competition.

A ribbon cutting ceremony for the exhibit is scheduled for Sept. 14 at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Department of Education building.
