Rogue Wolves Attack in ‘The Grey’

Liam Neeson stars as “an unlikely hero” who leads a group of roughneck men on a quest to survive after their plane crashes in Alaska. The men must face not only merciless, icy weather, but also rogue wolves in “The Grey.”

Joe Neumaier of the New York Daily News describes Neeson as “a guy even wolves should be scared of” with “rabid eyes, that snarling face barely concealing a glimpse of tooth as he stalks with a coiled intensity.”

Neumaier praises the supporting actors and adds “The Grey” is, “in the best sense, like a men’s adventure magazine splashed on the big screen.”

Anne Brodie of M&G writes that Neeson “is the actor I want with me when I’m in danger.  His alpha male persona – and willingness to be uncomfortable - makes him the one to lean on.” As for the movie as a whole? “We get just enough information but, not too much to get in the way of what is basically an old-fashioned “thrill ride” slash wilderness meditation,” she explains.
