Cupcake Diva Girlz Grand Opening Is April 14

Visitors to the store can enter for a chance to win free cupcakes for a year.

Ramona Hampton is looking forward to welcoming customers to her new Dacula bakery.

“We’re excited,” she said.

Hampton and her staff have been working to prepare for ’ April 14 grand opening celebration.

“We’re planning on having an awesome time on Saturday,” Hampton said.

The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the official ribbon cutting. Dacula Mayor Jimmy Wilbanks is scheduled to participate. Customers will be able to enter for a chance to win free cupcakes for a year. The grand opening will also include an “awesome” prize for the first customer that is even better than a year’s worth of free cupcakes, Hampton promised.

The new bakery will carry 110 flavors of cupcakes and will also offer wedding cakes, custom birthday cakes and other desserts. Each day, 10-20 flavors will be available. The most popular flavors, Hampton said, include Key Lime, red velvet and the prima donna, a chocolate cupcake infused with cream cheese filling and white chocolate “sparks.”

Cupcake Diva Girlz is located at 465 Dacula Road, Suite D. For more information, visit the Cupcake Diva Girlz Facebook page or call 678-376-0522.

Terrible Experience! I placed a special order with the owner of the store for cupcakes for an end-of-the-season cheerleader party. I explained in detail that we wanted blue and gold colored cupcakes with pom-poms and megaphones with the girl’ names on them. On Monday I called to ask that we pick them up 11am instead of 5pm that following Friday. On Friday we arrived at 12pm and to our surprise, the cupcakes were not finished! The young lady behind the counter looked stunned that we were they’re asking for our cupcakes and explained that they would be “finished” in 5 minutes if we could wait. When we finally got our hands on the order, they were all plain white iced and missing the pom-poms. When the owner (who took the order, though she denies it) was asked about the discrepancy in what was ordered vs. what was received, she tried to place blame on us for her not correctly writing down our request, not to mention that she thought she still had 5 more hours to work on them. The young lady that answered the phone and was supposed to change the time for our picking them up, finally admitted that she wrote the time change on the wrong order. No apologies were offered, and no effort was made to make us happy. I hate being lied to and with an attitude that made us feel as though we were the ones in the wrong. We will never spend another cent in that shop again…
