Dacula Kroger Now Open

Grand opening ceremony held today for Georgia's largest Kroger.

It’s official. Dacula residents can now go Krogering.

A host of corporate and local officials were on hand to cut the ribbon on . The company has hired over 200 people and invested $17 million in capital in the new facility.

The 94,000-square-foot grocery store will serve 25,000 customers each week according to Kroger representative Horace Hamilton.

Hamilton said the store has over 55,000 unique types of items including 20,000 grocery items, 1,500 wine products, 150 beer products, 5,000 deli and bakery items, 1,500 meat and seafood items, 800 produce products, 150 floral offerings and 2,700 natural food items.

“That kind of variety just does not exist in very many places,” Hamilton said.

Store manager Rex Thayer, a 17-year Kroger veteran, said he was excited about the opportunity to be a part of the Dacula community.

“I want to let you know that my goal is to serve each and every one of you,” he said.

was also present for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Wilbanks welcomed Kroger officials and thanked them for their investment in the community.

“New jobs in this area at this time is something we need to be grateful for,” Wilbanks said.

The Dacula Kroger includes a Starbucks, fuel center, bakery, floral department, drive-thru pharmacy and more. The store is open 24 hours a day and is located at 505 Dacula Road. For more information, call 678-407-8739.
