Dacula Restaurant Closes, Future Plans for Space Uncertain

Bolgheri had been open for approximately a year.

Another business has failed to succeed in the challenging Dacula restaurant market.

Bolgheri Tuscan Pizza, located at 3517 Braselton Highway in Dacula, specialized in Italian cuisine. The restaurant, which had been opened approximately a year, was housed in the space previously occupied by Ippolito's, which closed in March of 2012, and Mellow Mushroom, which was owned and operated by the same family which now operates Dooley's Southern Stone Pizza Kitchen

The managing partners of Bolgheri -- Barry Lennon and Christopher Brogdon of J. Christopher's breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurants -- are currently working on future plans for the space.

According to Lennon, Bolgheri was closed because the concept did not work out as anticipated. The restaurant space is still under lease, however, and Lennon plans to open another restaurant in that space within the next few months.

"We're going to do something, but we don't know what," he said.

Bolgheri's closure follows a string of restaurant closures in the Dacula area including the Fish House Seafood Restaurant, Dos Copas, Wok Star, Heavenly Desserts and Cafe, Mirko PastaStadium Sports Bar, Burger and Shake, Froyolo and others.
