UPDATED: Dos Copas Goes out of Business

The Hamilton Mill Dos Copas has closed according to restaurant owner Paul Dalrymple.

In an email to Dacula Patch, Dalrymple wrote, "We are closed permanently. I will release a statement later." 

As of April 15, the Dos Copas Facebook page had no word of the closing. The only notice to the public so far has been in the form of signs posted on the doors of Dos Copas which stated, "Dos Copas is closed. Thank you for 18 fun years." However, comments posted by Dos Copas in response to Facebook fans questions indicated "leasing agreement issues" were responsible for the closure.

The Buffalo's Cafe locations owned by Dalrymple, including the Hamilton Mill Buffalo's Cafe, will remain open.

Dos Copas was closed for a brief period earlier this year after failing a health inspection. Dalrymple issued a statement after the closure indicating he had been in the restaurant business for over 20 years and was "extremely passionate and focused on taking careful measure to insure safety of our customers and the quality of product we offer." The restaurant was reinspected on Feb. 8 and, according to the report, all violations were corrected.
