Firehouse Subs Opens in Hinesville

A new Firehouse Subs opened Monday in Hinesville, the first of several new restaurants slated to open in the next few months.

The restaurant, located at 556 W. Oglethorpe Highway, serves hot and cold sub sandwiches and salads, as well as offering catering service.

Founded in 1994 in Jacksonville, Fla., by brothers and former firefighters Chris and Rob Sorenson, Firehouse Subs now boasts more than 525 locations in 32 states, according to the company's web site.

Firehouse Subs is open Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. For catering information, contact franchise owner Eddie Wells at 912-877-SUBS (7827).

I'm very happy about this. I moved here from the Jacksonville area, and one thing I missed was lunch at Firehouse Subs.
