A look at the most recent Dacula restaurant inspections.

The health department is tasked with ensuring restaurant compliance with applicable health and safety regulations. The following restaurant scores are the most recent scores posted on the Gwinnett, Newton, Rockdale Health Departments website as of May 7.

Observations and corrective actions:

  • Violation of Code: [.04(6)(i) ] Observed pizza by the slice on Time Control not labeled with start and discard time. Pizza was cooked an hour prior, pizza was labeled with discard time. Items on time control should be documented according to written procedures.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
  • Violation of Code: [.04(4)(k) ] several small portion cups that do not have handles being used as scoops in bulk containers. Small portion cups removed from bulk containers. Scoops without handles should not be stored in bulk containers.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
  • Violation of Code: [.05(6)(a) ] Cold water knob to front handwashing sink not working. 2-door display cooler holding at 45.8oF. Repair/replace cold water knob and 2-door display cooler. Equipment should be in good repair and proper adjustment.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
  • Violation of Code: [.06(1)(h),(i) ] Hot water turned off to handwashing sink in kitchen next to pizza oven due to leak. Hot water turned back on. Repair Leak. Hot and cold water should be provided to all sinks at all times.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.

Observations and corrective actions:

  • Violation of Code: [.03(5)(c) ] Observed employee leave kitchen and go out the back door then reenter kitchen to work with food/food equipment without washing hands. Had employee wash hands. Employees should wash hands whenever a risk of contamination occurs.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
  • Violation of Code: [.03(5)(j)1&2 ] Observed employee coffee mug on prep table. Drink discarded. Employee drinks should be in a single service cup with a straw and lid.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
  • Violation of Code: [.03(5)(d) ] Employees washing their hands in a sink used for food prep, warewashing, or in a mop sink. Observed employee wash hands in vegetable sink. Had employee wash hands in handwashing sink. Only designated handwashing sinks should be used to wash hands.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
  • Violation of Code: [.03(5)(i) ] Employee preparing food without a hair restraint. Employee put on hair restraint. Employees with hair longer than a 1/2 inch must wear a proper hair restraint.  Corrected On-Site.  Repeat Violation.
  • Violation of Code: [.07(5)(f) ] Two wet mops in bottom of mop sink. Wet mops inverted. Wet mops should be hung or inverted after use.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.

Observations and corrective actions:

  • Violation of Code: [.04(8)(b) ] Box of salt observed on shelf with a use by date of 04/13/13. One bottle of orange juice in cooler with an expiration date of 04/29/13. Foods must be discarded by expiration date, sell by, or use by dates. All were discarded during inspection.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
  • Violation of Code: [.04(4)(d) ] Salt, pepper, oregano, mayo, and mustard observed in containers unlabeled. All foods taken from their original container must be labeled with the common name. All were labeled during inspection.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
  • Violation of Code: [.05(10)(a) ] Black pans observed stacked wet above dish sink. Equipment must be air dried prior to stacking. All pans were unstacked to air dry during inspection.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
