Getting Healthy with Atlanta Wellness

Each week we feature a business from our hometown of Dacula. This week, learn more about Atlanta Wellness Lifestyle and Sports Fitness Center.

Located at 2108 Teron Trace, Suite 200 and started in 2007 by Dr. Todd Zeigler, is a family owned and operated local Dacula business. Dr. Zeigler is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist. He is also the owner of Atlanta Orthopedics and head of the Orthopedic Trauma program at Gwinnett Medical Center. Atlanta Wellness is managed by his sister Beth Zeigler who I spoke to earlier this week.

Patch: What is the best part about managing Atlanta Wellness?

Beth: I like being able to work in a field that I am passionate about, building relationships with people in the community and helping them create healthy habits and make positive changes to their lives. The best part is when we get to watch people grow and change when they meet their goals.

Patch: What is the most challenging aspect of  managing Atlanta Wellness?

Beth: I guess getting the word out about us. Right when we opened it wasn't a good time for the economy. It wasn’t a good time to get people to spend money on fitness and wellness because it’s a luxury expense. But we are starting to grow now.

Patch: What is unique about Atlanta Wellness?

Beth: We focus on overall health and wellness in a small studio setting, with no crowds or waiting for cardio machines, and individualized attention for our members.  We offer classes and workshops that are ideal for beginners as well as classes for those looking for more of a challenge. Our trainers and instructors specialize in helping people with injuries, physical limitations and osteoarthritis.

Patch: What makes the Dacula community special?

Beth: Dr. Zeigler wanted to open up a wellness center to provide more services to his Dacula patients beyond physical therapy.
