Missouri-based Hussmann Corp. will add 50 jobs in Gwinnett County through the Georgia Quick Start program, the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce announced Monday. Hussmann manufactures, sells, installs, and services refrigeration systems and display equipment to business in the retail food industry.

The company will host a Skilled Trades Career Fair Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville. The company plans to conduct on-site interviews for brazers (pipers), mechanical testers, electrical testers, welders and painters, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Email resumes to Recruiting@hussman.com.

“We are excited to be expanding our skilled workforce in Gwinnett. The additional positions will dramatically improve our production efficiencies, to better serve our clients,” Andre King, human resources manager for Hussmann, said in a press release. “We are continually increasing our refrigeration systems area operation and this investment is a first step toward our sustained growth.”

Georgia Quick Start provides free, customized training programs that prepare workers with specific and competitive skill sets. Training is conducted in classrooms, mobile labs or on-site at the company and is provided at no charge by the Technical College System of Georgia.

“Hussmann’s investment in Gwinnett County speaks to the strength of our community and their confidence in the quality of our workforce,” said Gwinnett County Commissioner Jace Brooks in a statement. “This announcement is an excellent example of our economic vitality, as they create jobs for Gwinnett families and further strengthen our local manufacturing base.”
