Jack City Sports Center Offers Training for Young Athletes

Former MLB player and owner of Dacula's own Jack City Sports Center offers excellent advice for aspiring athletes.

Did you know Dacula is home to a state-of-the-art sports facility that offers training equipment and sports instruction to athletes?

In business since 2007, offers indoor and outdoor facilities including batting cages, baseball field rentals, professional instruction in a variety of sports and training, a home school physical education program, birthday and team party packages, and more. is also home to the 11U, 13U and 14U Jack City Dodgers baseball team, 16U Showcase baseball team and 18U Jack City Angels.  Tryouts for these teams are open to the community at various times of the year.

I spoke with Keith Whitner the owner and manager of and here is what he had to say about Jack City and his advice for young Dacula athletes.

Patch: What do you enjoy most about owning and operating Jack City here in Dacula?

Keith:  I majored in child development and I love working with kids.  Jack City allows me to stay close to my dream and help kids develop their skills at the same time.

Patch: What advice would you give Dacula athletes who want to excel in sports?

Keith: Well, because we live in Gwinnett County, the sports mecca, I would encourage young athletes to focus on their education first.  As they get older, if they can’t make the grades, it won’t matter if they are great athletes or not because they can’t play sports in school.  Focus on your education first.

is located at 1152 Auburn Road and will be offering a variety of summer camps to the Dacula community.  For more information, visit the Jack City website.
