The metro Atlanta area will soon become home to another sports team.
On Oct. 2, the Lingerie Football League announced Gwinnett County will host the league’s 12th team.
The LFL is currently accepting name suggestions for the new team. Fans are invited to submit possible team names to LFLinAtlanta@LFLUS.com by Friday, Oct. 19. The LFL will also host an open tryout, but the date has not yet been announced.
“Atlanta is one of those signature markets that any sports league targets. What primarily drove our decision to come to Atlanta was the incredible interest from the city, host arenas and fans”, said Mitchell S. Mortaza, Founder & Chairman, Lingerie Football League, LLC, in a released statement.
The Gwinnett LFL team will join the Jacksonville Breeze and Omaha Heart in the Southeastern Division of the league’s Eastern Conference.
“It is our intention to offer a diverse range of entertainment options for the community and believe this unique sport is a way to reach a new audience,” said Joseph Dennis, Gwinnett Center General Manager.
