Obama Supporters, Ordinance Revisions and Frozen Yogurt

On March 1, the Dacula City Council passed revisions to its planned mixed-use development ordinance that will pave the way for the development of a large tract of land near 316 and Highway 29. Several people have voiced concerns about the possibility of apartments being built, but no one attended the public hearing to voice those concerns. Additionally, Dacula Mayor Jimmy Wilbanks said he only received two emails about the matter. Please remember how important it is to contact your elected officials before a vote is held. Also, please keep in mind these ordinance revisions do not necessarily mean apartments will be built, it just means apartments could be built. Currently the property in question is not even within the city limits. Stay tuned for the annexation battle … 

I found it interesting that Dacula residents have so far donated more money to the Obama campaign than to any of the Republican contenders. We live in what has typically been considered a GOP stronghold. Perhaps the numbers will look quite different when the results for this quarter are released.
