Olde Towne Restaurant Closes Suwanee Location

Doors were locked Thursday. A notice posted on the door says bankruptcy proceedings have begun.

which occupied a prominent location in Suwanee Town Center, closed its doors Thursday afternoon (December 20).

A notice posted on the front door said that proceedings have begun in federal bankruptcy court. Hays Financial Consulting is the trustee, according to the notice.

The restaurant is located in the same development as City Hall and other businesses, such as Executive Barbers and Pooch & Paws. The menu was typical for a casual dining restaurant, featuring a wide variety of items. Also, the bar area had a retractable window that allowed for open-air viewing of Town Center Park.

This leaves Ippolito's, Mellow Mushroom and Brown Bag Deli as the chief eateries in Town Center.

People connected with the Suwanee location could not be reached for comment Thursday. The chain also operates in Lawrenceville, Buckhead and Kennesaw.

Also, the website reads: "To all our Suwanee customers, The Suwanee location is independently operated and is not associated in any way with the parent company doing business as Olde Towne Tavern & Grille. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the store directly"

No recording or prompts were available via the Olde Towne Suwanee phone number. Several would-be patrons who went by the restaurant Thursday evening were surprised by the closure.

I really liked the place - good sports bar - hope they can bring something else in like it.

So sad but the place has been in trouble for months. They couldn't make payroll and tips made by employees were being taken management to operate.

We loved the food. Last two times we were there over the last four weeks though service was VERY slow and no one checked back with us once we got our food. Had to flag someone down for the check. Seemed like not enough servers on the floor and those that were not paying attention to customers and hanging out by the kitchen talking instead. Hopefully new management will come in and start it up again. We liked the variety and great location. Hate it that employees weren't being paid and closed right before Christmas. :(

I really love the space and menu. I wonder how much the issues was lack of good management vs economy. We used to eat there once a week but after repeated food mistakes and a bad experience with the owners son who refused to speak to me about a to go order that was incorrectly made. since we only go once a month. It closed down before and I'm sure the rent is atrocious. I have considered to looking into it as an opportunity and would love to hear what type of food you would most like to see. I think with cheeky and cinco nearby tavern style is the way to go but service and caring for customers go a long way. Clean tables, caring owners and consistent food could make it a profitable space.
