Rick Tanner's Closed, Expects to Reopen Next Month in New Location

Impasse with landlord blamed for restaurant relocation.

is closing its doors -- at least temporarily.

In an email to Dacula Patch, restaurant owner Gene Kerley explained an impasse with The Shops at Hamilton Mill landlord has forced the eatery to close its Braselton Highway location.

"We have met with our staff as we have great group of people that want to continue working with us," Kerley wrote.

Kerley shared the message he has posted on the restaurant's Facebook page:

"We wanted to first thank everyone for their support over the last two years as well as clarify what is going on with Tanner's in Dacula. We have come to an impasse with the landlord after multiple attempts as far back as January of this year to work with the them. However, it became very apparent after our recent attempts that they did not really care if we stayed at the center or not. They are extremely difficult to deal with and left us no choice as we felt our business there was not secure considering how we had been treated by them.ย
Good news is look for Tanner's Grille coming soon near you...very soon look out for more info we will keep you posted."

Kerley indicated he is in the process of negotiating a lease for a new space and hopes to reopen in August. He declined to name the location explaining the lease has not yet been finalized.
