My favorite Taco Bell menu item is the volcano taco, but the chicken quesadilla is a close second.

I'm still waiting for the white table cloth restaurants the developer promised would come and be across from the Wal-Mart. When the project was proposed they alluded to possible Longhorn’s, or Outbacks etc. We fought hard for no drive trough’s and minimal / no fast food outlets. So far all we have is a tire store and a gas station. Additional fast food, is not all that exciting. Of course it will create several minimum wage jobs and that will help some local teenagers and folks from Barrow and Jackson County.

Pawn shops were never part of the plan either as I recall, yet we got one: http://dacula.patch.com/articles/boc-approves-hamilton-mill-pawn-shop-permit I think a lot of promises get made in the development stage. Think about the Mall of Georgia. Remember how the developers promised the nature center and trails? You might could find some weedy trails if you know where to look, but they were let completely off the hook regarding the nature center that was going to be built on Mall of Georgia boulevard.

Promises....right!. This is exactly why people are skeptical about airports with 20k jobs, no noise and no pollution. They always say what you want to hear and then flip to something else after the fact...like where are all of the nice businesses around Coolray Park...oh I forgot those will now be Appartments. It is what it is....always a scam for a buck!!

I would like to see a Sweet Tomatoes and an Outback come to the Hamilton Mill area.

Yep you think you voted for the right person but after they get in office they turn backs on all promises and their statements during the campaign. We need to do something about all from President down to the Mayor. I do like the nachos and chalupas at Taco Bell!!!!!!

Aren't they going to build a high school in that area?
Kristi Reed (Editor) April 11, 2012 at 08:14 PM
The relief high school will be built on property off Sardis Church (more or less behind the Goodwill but close to this property).

Iv lived in the Hamilton mill / braselton hwy area for 41 years and i remember when there was nothing around here NOT EVEN THE GOLF COURSE . We had to go all the way to buford or lawrenceville or even winder even had to go to the Braselton Brother grocery store just to get food and stuff . Im just glad to get any places around here to eat at ! We love the Taco salads , mexican pizza's also . Now we won't have to go somewhere else to get one . Kristi the land bought for the new high school was my Aunt's land

I'm excited about Taco Bell. No one cooks dog meat quite like them.
Lori April 12, 2012 at 12:55 AM
Me too. All we get is fast food. If Ippolito's couldn't make it then I doubt an Outback will.

Winner ,Winner taco dinner !

Well, I will agree about the addictive dog meat Taco Bell uses ( I like the Supreme Burrito's ). However, they reign king in this area, only because we do not have a Jack n The Box restaurant around here. You can never find a dog, within 3 miles, of one of those restaurants.

Lori, I can't even say Ippolito's and Outback in the same sentence! I was never impressed with Ippoloto's. The Outback Special for under $10.00...That is impressive!

I really think an IHOP would do well in the Hamilton Mill area. The WH on Hamilton Mill Road is always so crowded. We could use a good sit-down breakfast place. Plus, I like pancakes any time of day.

put ramps at spout springs bridge and then put a Cracker Barrel at Sprout Springs Rd Exit
Lori April 14, 2012 at 02:49 AM
I think a Texas Roadhouse would do well at the exit. There isn't one close by and it is a sit down restaurant-not fast food. It seems that is all we get here.
Lori April 14, 2012 at 02:51 AM
I think a Texas Roadhouse would be great at Hamilton Mill and there isn't one close by.

What is going in next to CVS on Jim Moore?
Kristi Reed (Editor) April 15, 2012 at 03:31 PM
The only thing I recall seeing lately in that area was the demolition of a mobile home on Auburn Road (a little piece down from the CVS). I haven't noticed anything in the building permits on Jim Moore itself.
Lori April 15, 2012 at 05:11 PM
Kristi, have you heard of any sit down restaurants going in nearby to Hamilton Mill?

Hi Lori - Other than the new Dooley's Pizza Kitchen, I have not.

According to county records, it is going to be an access road: http://dacula.patch.com/articles/what-is-happening-next-to-the-cvs-on-jim-moore-road#photo-9602581
