Wells Fargo Celebrates Opening of New Dacula Branch
Mayor Jimmy Wilbanks led the ribbon cutting.
Wells Fargo bank has expanded its operations in the metro Atlanta area by opening two new branches in Gwinnett, adding to the 32 existing stores already in the county.
One is located at 505 Dacula Road in Dacula and the other is in Lawrenceville at 1475 Buford Drive. Both are inside Kroger stores and operate between the hours of 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturdays. A third store also recently opened in Newnan.
“We’ll serve our customers all the ways they want to be served – including online and mobile channels – but we believe our customers want to be able to meet personally with a banker," Atlanta Region President Mike Donnelly said in a released statement. "We want it to be easy for them to do that.”
To celebrate the grand opening of the Dacula store, Wells Fargo on July 31 donated $10,000 to Rainbow Village to enhance financial education and job skills development programs for homeless residents in transitional housing, according to a news release. The Dacula High School Marching Band performed and Mayor Jimmy Wilbanks led the ribbon cutting.
The bank also unveiled a mural depicting early views of the Elisha Winn House, downtown street scenes, local businesses, and neighborhood residents. Jim Nicholls with the Gwinnett Historical Society provided many of the images, the release stated.
The public is invited to a free Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday, Aug. 10 at the new Dacula store from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., where there will be refreshments, face painting and balloons. Customers can also have their pictures taken with the authentic Wells Fargo stagecoach.
