What's Open in Dacula on Thanksgiving Day?

• Lake Lanier Island Resort's Magical Nights of Lights

This year the Lake Lanier Magical Nights of Lights features new entertainment and attractions including seven miles of holiday lights and illuminated scenery. The Coca-Cola Santa and his elves have brought new excitement to the show this season. Stop in at the resort’s Holiday Village where visitors can roast marshmallows, play carnival games and do a little holiday shopping as well. Tickets are available online or at the resort gates. Please be aware that additional charges apply to Santa photos, amusements and activities within the Holiday Village. The Magical Nights of Lights will run from Nov. 18 through Dec. 31.

• Waffle House

How about some waffles for Thanksgiving? All Waffle House locations are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We have two locations here in Dacula, one at and another at . Don’t let these guys spend Thanksgiving alone, head out and enjoy some classics including smothered hash browns and double waffles with chocolate chips.

Feel like adding some popcorn and movie magic to the day?  If you want to catch a movie on Thanksgiving will be open and showing some of the newest releases including "Breaking Dawn" and "Happy Feet Two." Great Escapes Theater is located at 2160 Hamilton Mill Parkway. Visit the theater's website for specific show times.

This year you can work off all that turkey while bowling at in Dacula. Stars and Strikes will be opening at 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Special $1 bowling games will begin at 9 p.m. and the center will close at midnight.

The located at 575 Dacula Road will be open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. The pharmacy inside Walgreens will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

• Kroger

Kroger grocery stores will be open for regular operating hours on Thanksgiving. Kroger stores in Dacula are located at and at . 

Ingles grocery store located at will be open for regular operating hours as well. Ingles offers customers a bakery, deli, video rental and more.

The pharmacy at CVS may be your best bet if you need a prescription on the holiday as it will be open from 8 a.m. to  2 p.m. is located at 3027 Jim Moore Road and the store will be open for regular operating hours on Thanksgiving Day.

• The Versailles Restaurant at Chateau Elan

Make reservations to dine at the Thanksgiving Buffet at Chateau Elan's Versailles Restaurant. This annual buffet is available from noon until 6:30 p.m. and guests will enjoy dining on exquisite menu items under the 45 foot glass Atrium. The price for adults is $59 and $25 for children. Reservations at the Versailles Room can be made by calling 678-425-0900 x 6181.

Need a good movie to watch on Thanksgiving Day? Our local blockbuster will be open from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Blockbuster is located at 710 Dacula Road.

There will be no trash or recycling pickup for the county or City of Dacula residents on Thanksgiving Day.
