Incident allegedly occurred at McDonald's on Dacula Road.

UPDATED April 5 at 1:35 p.m.

Wendy T. said she will never eat at the again.

“It’s not my intention to ruin McDonald’s reputation,” she said, but added that she wants people to be aware of what happened during her March 31 visit to the Dacula Road McDonald’s.

“Everyone needs to know,” she said. “Who wants a stranger’s saliva in their food? It’s gross.”

Wendy T., who asked that her last name not be published, ordered a grilled chicken snack wrap and several other items at the McDonald’s drive-thru. After receiving her order, Wendy made the five-minute drive to her Dacula home.

“When I got home, I unwrapped my grilled chicken, which is something I never do, and that’s when I discovered someone bit my chicken,” she said.

Wendy opened the chicken wrap so that she could add some ranch dressing. She said she was shocked when she saw the bite mark on her chicken tender.

“I’m going, ‘No, this is unreal’,” she recalled.

Wendy inspected the other food items in her order and found nothing amiss. She then took the chicken wrap and drove back to McDonald’s.

“I went inside this time and I asked for the manager,” she said. “Fortunately for them they didn’t have any customers because I’m pretty sure they would’ve lost a lot of business.”

The manager walked over and Wendy described what she had found.

“He looked at it a couple of seconds, then he wrapped it up really quickly,” she said.

According to Wendy, the manager appeared “nonchalant” about the whole incident and made no attempt to apologize for what had transpired.

“He didn’t look at me, he didn’t apologize, he didn’t utter a word,” she said.

Wendy watched as the manager went to the cash register and started punching numbers.

“I said, ‘Look, I don’t want anything from you’,” she recalled. Wendy said she didn’t even ask for her money back. She informed the manager that she would never return to the location and walked away.

“I just wanted to get the heck out of there,” she explained.

Although she does not want anything from McDonald’s, Wendy said she does want people to be aware of the incident. She filed a complaint with the health department, called McDonald’s corporate offices and posted a review on .

“I just want people to know about it,” she said. “This is our health.”

Wendy said she would not want to eat something a family member had taken a bite of, much less something a complete stranger had sampled.

“I would have been okay if someone had just broken off the chicken, but to bite it? That’s pretty bold. It’s nasty,” she said. “Who does that?”

At this point, Wendy does not know if she will go back to a fast food restaurant, but, if she does, she will not use a drive-thru.

“I’m going inside to watch them prepare my food,” she said.

In the meantime, Wendy offered some advice for anyone who frequents a fast food eatery.

“I just want people to be very mindful. Check your food,” she said. “Whenever you order anything, check your food before you consume it.”

Wendy explained she had no intention of checking the snack wrap purchased during her visit to McDonald's. The only reason she unwrapped it was because she wanted to add a different sauce.

“Had I not wanted that ranch dressing instead of honey mustard, I would’ve eaten that wrap,” she said.

In response to the allegations, McDonald's franchisee Paul Messer Jr. provided the following emailed statement:

“Customer satisfaction, food safety and quality are top priorities for me and my staff. We take these matters seriously and investigate all claims to gather the facts. At this time I have not seen any evidence to support the claims alleged by this individual.  As such I would strongly caution anyone from jumping to conclusions without having all the facts.”

This incident is far from the first in which McDonald’s customers have reported unsavory discoveries. In March of 2011, a Melbourne, Australia man made headlines after reportedly finding maggots in his Big Mac. A NFL coach sued McDonald’s in 2006 after claiming to have found a dead rat in his salad. A 2000 incident in Virginia involved a breaded chicken head a woman claimed to have found inside a box of McDonald’s chicken. And just last week, a British teen bit into a McDonald’s chicken wrap that allegedly contained limescale, a chalky deposit left behind in old pipes and -- in this case -- a steamer.

Wendy said her experience, though not as extreme as those of others, has shaken her confidence in McDonald’s and the fast food industry as a whole.

“I was shocked. I still am,” she said. “Whenever I look at that picture (see above), I get sick. I was trusting these people to prepare my food in a decent manner.”

The Dacula Road McDonald’s was last inspected on Jan. 20, 2012 and received a score of 96.
