Former Atlanta Brave Brian Jordan addressed those assembled at Stone Mountain Park, and his foundation was one of the honorees.

“Dream big and reach for the stars,” he told the group.  “Believe in what you do.  Reach out to everyone – a lot of people want to help.  And a lot of people need help.”

Three additional breakfasts occurred in October and some 240 groups in all received $1,000 gifts.  With the program in its fifth year, giving in Atlanta will exceed $1 million this fall.

All the groups were selected by frontline team members in bank offices in the Atlanta area for the work they are doing locally.

“Just the names of the groups give you a a sense of the great work they are doing,” said Carol Morris, East Atlanta area president.

“We are doing our best to be a great local bank, and this is a cornerstone of our local giving and volunteerism,” said Robert Dobbs, business banking area manager.

Similar events are taking place this fall across Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi.
