Keith Fleming, a Dacula resident, is the 2013 Volunteer of the Year at the J.M. Tull-Gwinnett Family YMCA in Lawrenceville.
“Keith displays great leadership and exemplifies our mission along the core values of our organization,” says Kim Nelson, executive director of the J.M. Tull-Gwinnett Family Y. “He is truly a Y advocate in the community.”
Fleming is a board member at the Tull-Gwinnett Y and currently serves as the board chair. He is committed to raising money for financial assistance through the Y’s annual giving campaign, a program that provides underserved youth the opportunity to participate in Y programs like academic enrichment and youth sports.
“The Y is different from most organizations because it has a critical social objective of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility and provides support for those in need,” says Fleming. “There is a real sense of caring, and it shows in everything we do at the Y. Being part of that makes me feel good about our inclusive programs and services.”
Fleming is region manager for Allgood Pest Solutions. He is active in several youth baseball programs, including the Mill Creek High School Dugout Club and the University of North Georgia.
The Y is a powerful association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and connect.
