Can Wealth Be a Reason for Prejudice?

Is prejudice alive and in use against the wealthy? The wealthy are now being attached for their ability to make money.

Is there a new form of prejudice in America? Our failing economy has made it respectable to hate on a new group of fellow citizens. This new prejudice is present within the hallowed halls of the Capitol and the White House. Our leaders are now engaging in financial prejudice towards a group of our fellow citizens. Obama and democratic leaders are exhibiting financial racist against the wealthy citizens of America.  In the past, the poor were the target of prejudice, yet, now the rich are a target of financial prejudice.

Our present administration is prejudiced towards the rich and successful. Obama discriminates against those who are successful. Obama is treating the wealthy differently due to their common characteristics of being wealthy. The wealthy are being exploited.  By feeling inferior against the wealthy, do the democratic leaders treat the wealthy differently than they treat the average tax-paying citizen? It is now in style to be antagonistic against those with wealth. The White House is “out to get” the wealthy because they have more money than other citizens. Can being financially solvent be a new reason to garner hate from others classes or races of citizens? Charging the wealthy more in taxes is just as wrong as charging the poor less in taxes.

The dictionary states that prejudice is  “an irrational attitude of hostility directed against an individual, a group, a race, or their supposed characteristics.”  It is clear that most members in the wealthy class possess some common qualities such as intelligence, strong work ethics, personality traits of risk taking, among other qualities. To be prejudiced you must carry the belief that all members of a certain group have certain abilities or characteristics.  Do wealthy people have the certain ability that other classes of citizens don't have? Why yes they do, they have the ability to make money, lots of money!  By grouping a class of people together that share common characteristics and abilities and then treating them differently, you are engaging in class prejudice. You must distinguish them as inferior or superior to another groups. Most believe that prejudice is only towards the lower class members of society when, in definition, prejudice is now targeting the wealthy members of society

The current leaders are attacking a specific class in our society, the wealthy. They are singling out this group of people because they are wealthy. They are prejudiced towards this class of citizens. Their wealth is the characteristic they are attacking.

Obama’s prejudicial rants go on without a challenge for fear the challenger will be labeled a racist. If we were to exchange the word “rich” with any other group of Americans during Obama’s rants against the rich, there would be an outcry of disgust. Let’s see how that would sound. ‘Tax the BLACKS more because they are black or tax the Gays more because they are Gay! WOW, now how does that sit with you?  By using the correct definition of prejudice, one can see how prejudiced or classist Obama is towards the wealthy. Who will be next, the Baptist or the Jews?

What is it about the wealthy that Obama finds disdain with? Why does Obama want to punish an entire class of Americans? If you do not find this offensive then you are part of this country's problem.  Have you have gotten on board with the Washington’s bandwagon of attacking the rich because they are rich? Are you a part of the problem or a part of the solution. The 2012 election is an important milestone in our countries history. EDUCATE YOURSELF AND VOTE!
