Dacula Councilman Dr. Timothy Montgomery Receives AGHON Honor

Dr Montgomery inducted into the AGHON Honor Society for his leadership with in his community and his profession.

Dr. Timothy Montgomery, Dacula City Councilman and owner of Dacula Animal Hospital, was inducted into the University of Georgia's AGHON Honor Society, Saturday, at the University of Georgia Continuing Education Center for a lifetime of outstanding leadership.  Upon receiving the honor Montgomery humbly stated, “The world is run by the people that show up.  You don’t have to be the smartest, the fastest, and certainly not the best looking, you simply must prepare yourself, show up, and go to work!”

AGHON Honor Society annually selects persons whom have distinguished themselves as leaders in their area of study and in their communities.  AHGON is the highest honor that a UGA student in the College of the Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, and College Veterinary Medicine, can be awarded.  The 90 year old AGHON Honor Society hosted the induction ceremony during their November 5th Homecoming Breakfast.  After opening comments from Georgia’s Agriculture Commissioner, Gary Black,  Montgomery received his AGHON Pin and Plaque from AGHON member, Ali Terrell after her informational introduction.

Dr. Montgomery graduated from Auburn Elementary, Winder Barrow High School, the University of Georgia and then went on to graduate with a DVM from the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983.  He has held many leadership positions including the President of the UGA Veterinary Alumni Association, President of the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, served as the Georgia Representative for the National Veterinary Association, and served as the Georgia Legislative Advisor for the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, and currently serves as a Councilman  for the City of Dacula.
