Occupy Wall Street Occupies Headlines

There is an old PR saying that, “Any press is good press.”  In the world of public relations, press -- negative or positive -- is still good press.  This old adage is growing weary with poor President Obama. His press has been long suffering and mostly reporting his failure in leadership skills over that last year.  In the world of public relations, when your client is on the front page above the fold, in all major newspapers, on every opening news channel, on the internet blogs, reporting yet another negative story, you better do something!  

What is the oldest trick in a public relations bag when there is too much negative press is harming your client’s image?  There are a couple of ploys professionals can choose. The best one is to pray.  Pray for an another major news story take away the negative attention away from your client.  

Take that old grey haired man who turned our White House, the People’s House, into his “Sexual Play House.”  When old Slick Willie Clinton’s escapades were exposed, the press had a lead headline for months.  Once the news media got wind of the blue Gap dress specifics, they were relentless in their daily news coverage.  The Clinton January 26, 1998 denial began the fire ball.  After seeing him say,  “I did not have sexual relations with that woman,”  ABC and CBS phone banks were inundated with thousands of calls made by incensed parents,  during the Friday Nights Family Lineup (Yes! Virginia there was a time when the media considered the family as an important demographic viewing group) as they continuously interrupted family night with details about Slick Willies oral play dates. 

If you are a student of body language and voice analysis you could tell he was lying.  Check when his eyes blinked. Listen to when his voice wavered. Check out his movement when he says he needed to get back to,  “the people’s work.” I love to watch, Lie To Me! The “Slick Willie” staff was elated when he was knocked off the top of the list for a few days. When the, “Gunmen Hold 400  Hostages” story broke, Slick Willie Clinton was replaced as the lead story, by this tragedy, for a couple of days.  That is one way to get your guy off the lead news story, just have another more negative story come along.

Let’s fast forward to our next democratic president boiling in a hot personal demise.  While there is no blue Gap dress, Obama is in his own media feeding frenzy.  Let’s face it, Obama is having a pretty bad time in the news media.  Unemployment is at a historic high, our national debt is seen by the world as a strategic weakness, millions have lost their homes, families are breaking apart, businesses are loosing their customers and suppliers, shopping centers are emptying out, the stock market crashes weekly, student loans are due with no job income to pay them, retirees have lost their eggs -- nests and all, and the baby boomers are about to explode. 

Poor Obama. Poor poor Obama. Obama’s last press conference was sad to watch.  He is a beaten man.  He looked like a man searching for an answer that was never to come. To me it is always sad to see a man defeated, even if I do not agree with his politics.  Part of me wants him to succeed because I want all men to be successful. 

Watching Obama go on and on with each new question, as if the amount of time spent on his answer would produce a miracle that would turn his presidency around, was painful to watch.  It was as if he was reliving his glory days back on the election trail when, still unproven, the people loved to listen to him.  It was as if he was transported back in time when some believed his community organizing skills would make Obama an excellent president.  How did that conservation sound in their heads? I still wonder.  Obama’s lack of national leadership to solve our country’s unemployment is on everyone's mind.  

We need a new leader to reclaim the our great republic.  Our constitution is the written backbone of this great country. Obama's failure is a direct result of his wanting to take a republic and turn it into a socialistic government.  If Obama continues to believe our government should be all things to all people, we will continue to stay the second rate country that the Obama crew has ushered in. 

The best way to get poor Obama out of the spotlight, as his numbers continue to fall, is to have another story take his place as the lead. Enter the OCCUPY WALL STREET Groups!  It is no wonder the Obama crew loves the “Occupy Wall Street” movements. They take poor Obama’s place as the lead story.  Obama can only pray these protesters have the inner strength to hang out at their campsite until after the election.  Let’s see; No jobs, no houses, no income, no retirement funds......YEP!  indeedee they will be there! There is nothing else to do once your kicked off the welfare rolls.  

To those who are ready with their comments that, “This is Bush’s fault,” PALEEEZE, your man has been in office for two and a half years. If the Obama crew had done absolutely N O T H I N G, we would be better off today! We have a capititalistic form of government.  Let the banks, corporations, and housing markets fail and then let them rebuild.  We are just prolonging the process. Can anyone still be thinking Obama is a viable candidate for leadership for this country?  Community organizer for the Occupy Wallstreet Movement - YES, but leader of the greatest nation on the face of the earth, NOT!   

The Occupy groups have been at it for weeks. Which party are they hurting?  Which party has the most to loose from their actions? Which party has the most to gain? Each party is holding their breath as they determine how they can use this group. What is to become of them?  Occupy groups are taking the spotlight off the dismal leadership of Obama.  I believe they will be left alone (not arrested or jailed) until they are; 1. identified as a negative to poor Obama’s election chances, 2. they commit a crime, or 3. a convention heads into town. The Occupy groups are serving a purpose for the Obama campaign. Obama is no longer the lead economic story in our great nation. The Obama camp is now happy to have the Occupy groups diverting attention off their poor leadership by backing the very groups that are highlighting Obama's failed administration.  Hmm... I believe we are seeing a new PR ploy on how to handle poor PR-If you can't beat them, Join them!
