Around the Region: Editor Arrested for Pandering, Instructor Charged With Child Molestation and Teacher Struck by Car

Managing editor of the Cherokee Tribune since May, local resident Brandon Wilson, 33, was arrested Thursday in Canton.

While he offered no other details,  spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said Wilson, of Mountain Ridge Drive in Cartersville, is charged with pandering.

Two others were arrested along with him, one on a charge of pimping and the other on a charge of prostitution, according to a report provided by Baker.

– East Cobb Patch

A Roswell man has been jailed for aggravated child molestation for acts involving a young girl at his home and his East Cobb Tae Kwan Do school.

In a release issued Thursday morning, Cobb Police spokesman Officer Michael Bowman said Young Jin Shim, 32, was being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. 

Bowman said the suspect was arrested late Wednesday after a female minor reported that she had been having a sexual relationship with him. 

 

– Kennesaw Patch

A Kennesaw teacher was critically injured when he was hit by a vehicle at around 5 this morning.

According to the Cobb County Police Department, 32-year-old Jeffery Ingram was jogging east on North Booth Road nearing Junction Drive when he was hit by a red 2012 Chevrolet Traverse.

Ingram was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital by ground and is listed in critical condition, said police.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, 50-year-old William Benton of Doraville, was not injured. The collision is still under investigation, and charges are pending.
