Around the Region: Employee Warned After Showing Naked Photo, Man Arrested for Shooting Cop and Hand Grenades Found in Midtown

Canton public works director Dave Cangemi wasn't the only city employee punished as a result of a community service worker's sexual harassment claims, according to new documents released Thursday through an open-records request.

Days after the , Cangemi gave a subordinate a written warning for allegedly showing the same man a photo of his wife's naked backside.

Parks maintenance worker Spencer Tillman said his wife wasn't naked, but the city ruled that he violated the city's "standards of conduct."

Atlanta police arrested Cameron Christian Maddox, 19, on Friday and charged him with aggravated assault in the shooting of Officer Dexter Toomer. Police said they would not elaborate on a motive for the shooting or release further details because the investigation is ongoing.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. Thursday, near the  restaurant.

According to the most recent update by police officials, the officer, who was shot in the left leg, was in good condition.

Hand grenades found near the Midtown neighborhood of Home Park on Saturday morning were not explosive, Atlanta Police Department officials said.

According to Atlanta Police spokesperson Carlos Campos, a witness stated that while he was collecting metal from garbage cans in the area, he came across the devices in a clear plastic bin.

Surrounding streets were then closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic before S.W.A.T. determined the two hand grenades to be inert and non-functional.
