Preliminary findings indicate that the drugs "were used for self-medication for lack of a better term or self-usage by possibly the two firefighters involved," Cherokee County Sheriff Roger Garrison said. "Those narcotics were not sold. It is through the further investigation that at least one of those individuals was involved in the sale of the hydrocodone, possibly the marijuana and some other narcotics."

The Atlanta Police Department issued an advisory Thursday to delivery truck drivers following four recent incidents in which truckers reported their vehicles being broken into and alcoholic beverages stolen.

"We would like to encourage delivery drivers to report any suspicious activity to police, be sure to close and lock the doors of their trucks while making deliveries and if possible have another employee stay with the truck," APD said in its advisory.

– East Cobb Patch

Truck break-ins at an East Cobb shopping center last month are part of a multi-jurisdictional search for a suspect in several incidents of credit card and automated teller machine thefts.

Cobb Police on Wednesday issued photos of the suspect being investigated for a string of entering auto incidents with the purpose of stealing credit cards and using them at ATMs.

The suspect is identified as a black male, between 28 and 38 years old. Cobb Police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said the man has a tattoo on his right forearm and was seen in at least one photograph wearing a “Red Wings” flat-brimmed cap.

Pierce said Cobb police are working with authorities in Alpharetta, Roswell and Sandy Springs regarding similar incidents.
