Suwanee Patch

Developer Dan O’Leary and his partners have announced that they have the backing needed to build a gambling complex in Norcross. This complex would be built near the OFS facility along Jimmy Carter Boulevard and I-85 South. Developers believe it would generate $350 million dollars for the HOPE scholarship as well as bringing more than 2,500 permanent jobs and 1,000 construction jobs to the area.

According to Ed Sutor, who runs Dover Downs, a Delaware-based resort that is the model for the Norcross complex, the facility would target 40 to 60-year-old white collar clients who have disposable incomes. Sutor believes the resort would attract approximately five million out-of-state visitors a year.
