Ryan Brunn told a packed courtroom Tuesday that he never intended to kill Jorelys, but that he got scared she was going to tell on him.

Wearing a bullet proof vest over an orange jumpsuit, Brunn pleaded guilty to the murder of Jorelys, 7, in Cherokee Superior Court—only feet from the first grader's mother, Joselin, and other family members.

Bound, gagged and with a slit throat, Jorelys Rivera was still alive after being assaulted by Ryan Brunn.

She managed to make it out of a bathtub in an empty apartment to the toilet before Brunn, realizing she wasn't dead yet, used one of her roller skates to strike her five times in the head.

She was stilled.

After killing the Canton child, Brunn, 20, put her in a bag and took the body to the trash compactor "two football fields" away from the apartment and turned the compactor on, he told a packed courtroom Tuesday.

As part of a plea agreement with the state, and with the approval of Jorelys' mother, Judge Frank Mills sentenced Brunn to life without the possibility of parole.

 seized 1,100 grams of suspected marijuana, 42 tablets of Oxycodone and six guns at , located at 1035 Franklin Rd.

Officers responded to a stolen cell phone report at the  on Northwest Parkway at around 3 a.m. Tuesday. The victim told police that a black man stole his iPhone 4.

Officers used the Find My iPhone application, which lead them to the northeast corner of a building within the Autumn View Apartments.

Police knocked and announced themselves to the apartment. While officers were talking to an individual through the door, a man attempted to flee the apartment by jumping off the second-floor balcony. The man was taken into custody, and the stolen iPhone was recovered from him.

Other items found inside the apartment included drugs, five handguns (three of which were stolen), one assault rifle and a digital scale.

 

– Oconee Patch

Two Bogart men allegedly attempted to rob a man in the  parking lot Monday around 8 p.m, the reports.

The victim agreed to meet the men in order to purchase an iPhone, Chief Deputy Lee Weems said. The transaction was arranged on Craigslist and the victim decided to conceal a video camera to capture it on tape, he said.

When the victim met with the men, he says they tried to rob him but he was able to get away before they could take his money, Weems said.

Investigators were able to obtain still images of the suspects from the video and identify the men as Michael Anthony Fulcher, 33, and Timothy Shane Fulcher, 29, both of Bogart, the Sheriff's Office reported. Warrants have been issued in their names for criminal attempt of robbery.
