An Austell woman escaped injury after a train collided with the tail end of her car on Sunday.

Gene Hale, a train enthusiast, was shooting video footage of the trains when one collided with the woman's car (see video).

Austell Police cited Geraldine Hunt, 90 of Austell, with running a railroad crossing and leaving the scene of an accident.

Chief Bob Starrett said Hunt drove to her home after the train struck her car.

– East Atlanta Patch

A Reynoldstown woman's act of kindness was rewarded with a stolen iPhone following a ruse by a pre-teen who played on her sympathies.

The victim said she was walking home when a little boy, about 11 years old, approached her with a sob story about being lost.

He told her he was looking for the Edgewood/Candler Park station and wanted to call his mother.

She dialed a number that he gave her, handed him her iPhone 4 and he took off running toward Moreland Avenue.

– Canton-Sixes Patch

The man alleged to have killed his girlfriend in Canton early Sunday morning was out of prison on probation at the time of the shooting.

Trevor Nuckles, 21, had spent time in jail and was serving three years of probation after pleading guilty in Cobb County Superior Court in April 2011.

In Canton, Nuckles was wanted by the  on charges of battery and cruelty to children at the time of Sunday's shooting but further information on those charges were not immediately available.

, Dejanirra Elrod, 19, five times while at the Pearidge Road home of one of Elrod's relatives. Elrod was transported to , where she later died of her injuries.
