Horrific details emerged Monday as Ryan Brunn was indicted on 13 counts in connection with the murder of Canton Elementary first-grader Jorelys Rivera.

Originally facing charges of murder and making a false statement, 11 new charges were added on Monday, including two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of cruelty to children in the first degree, one count of aggravated child molestation, one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes, one count of false imprisonment, one count of abandonment of a dead body and one count of sexual exploitation of children.

– Marietta Patch

A  clerk was shot in the arm Wednesday night during an unsuccessful robbery attempt.

A man walked into the Marietta store at about 11 p.m., immediately pulled out a silver-colored pistol and fired one shot at the fleeing Gantt’s employee,  said in a news release.

The shot hit the store clerk in the right arm.

Security video from the store shows that the gunman then tried to open the two cash registers and ran away after he failed, police said.

Marietta police ask anyone with information about the case to call Detective Shane Merritt at 770-794-5324.

 

– Stone Mountain Patch

A man was recently duped into paying $500 for what he believed were three iPads.

According to the police report, the man bought the fake iPads from two men at a Covington Highway convenience store on Jan. 1. The man opened the package after the subjects left and found a picture frame instead.

The man told police the men left the station in a 90s model tan Chevrolet Impala with a Louisiana license plate.
