Around the Region: Police Release Chase Footage, Student Arrested for Threats and Cop Shot in Little Five Points

The  has released the patrol car footage of the chase that occurred Wednesday and ended in a rollover crash after  was robbed. Speeds reached in excess of 80 mph.

Hours before  students awoke for another day of classes Wednesday, Paulding County deputies arrested one of the school’s freshmen for allegedly threatening Tuesday to shoot his peers the next day.

According to a news release from the , 17-year-old Dustin Wade England admitted to making threats online that he would shoot multiple students at the school Wednesday.

England is charged with making terroristic threats—a felony. He is currently being detained at the Paulding County Detention Center where he is being held with no bond.

 

– East Atlanta Patch

Atlanta police are looking for a gunman who shot and wounded an officer in the leg while officers were investigating a suspicious persons call near the intersection of Moreland and Euclid avenues.

The incident occurred before 11 p.m. Thursday, near the  restaurant.

Early Friday morning, Maj. Keith Meadows APD Zone 6 commander, which includes Little Five Points, told East Atlanta Patch the officer is in good condition, is conscious and talking.
