Around the Region: Woman Denies Affair With Husband’s Killer, Pounds of Marijuana Found in Luggage and Accused Drunk Driver Found Asleep in Her Bed

Andrea Sneiderman returned to witness stand Wednesday morning and continued to insist that she and the man who killed her husband never had an affair.

Sneiderman, the widow of Russell 'Rusty' Sneiderman, spent several hours on Tuesday and Wednesday detailing her relationship with her former boss, Hemy Neuman, who has admitted to killing Rusty Sneiderman.

Neuman has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in the killing of Rusty Sneiderman, who was gunned down in Nov. 2010 after dropping of his child at a Dunwoody daycare center. Defense lawyers have said he had delusions and thought angels and demons spoke to him.

Prosecutors are depicting Neuman as a man who wanted to get rid of a romantic rival, and who knew right from wrong.

Authorities say approximately 14 pounds of marijuana were found during a traffic stop in Oconee County on Tuesday afternoon.

Police stopped a vehicle driven by Justin Cornish, 28, of Woodlake Drive in Athens for a window tint violation. A canine searched the vehicle after a search warrant was obtained, honing in on the trunk and a piece of luggage containing the marijuana.

Cornish was charged with marijuana trafficking and canceled registration.

A Grayson woman was arrested and charged with hit and run, driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane after she left the scene of an early morning accident and went home to bed.

According to a police report from the , Rosemary Alice Chard, 49, of 1775 Big Haynes Court in Grayson, was involved in a hit and run accident at the corner of Highway 124 and Webb Gin House Road at 7:24 a.m. Feb. 21. After tracing the tag number reported by the victim to Chard’s Grayson home, police found Chard’s car parked in the garage with the lights on and the engine still running. Her husband answered the door and said he was unaware his wife had been involved in an accident. She was located upstairs, asleep in her bed.

Chard was arrested and transported to the Gwinnett County Jail.
