Buford Woman Wins $118,000 Lottery Prize

Receptionist bought winning ticket at Sugar Hill convenience store.

The Georgia Lottery’s Lucky Emerald 8s game recently proved very lucky for a Buford receptionist.

Lindsay Estep, 21, won the $118,000 top prize playing the instant game.

“I stopped at the store and decided at the last minute to play,” Estep said. “I scratched it in my car.”

The winning ticket was sold at the Pit Stop Convenience Store, 5192 Nelson Brogdon Boulevard in Sugar Hill.

According to the Georgia Lottery press release, Estep, a receptionist at a flooring company, intends to use the money to start a college fund for her infant son.

Georgia Lottery profits are used to pay for educational programs including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. Since its inception, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has provided the State of Georgia with $12.5 billion in education funding.
