Church News: BBQ, Quilting and Support Groups

A look at local church events scheduled during the upcoming week.

Monday, April 25

Are you dealing with life's habit, hurts, or hang ups?  Join Celebrate Recovery at Hebron Baptist Church on Monday nights.  Dinner is served at 6 p.m. in the Chapel wings ($3 for adults, $1 children), large group meets in Chapel at 6:30 p.m. and then small groups at 7:30 p.m. 

Small groups are available for obessive compulsive disorders, alcohol addictions, adult children of alcoholics, sexual addictions, chemical dependency, survivors of physical, sexual and emotional abuse, eating disorders, depression, unforgiveness, freedom from anger, co-dependency, dealing with past/present guilt and shame.

Teens may choose to attend "The Landing" a teen version of Celebrate Recovery. "Precovery Group" is for elementary age children whose families are going through crisis. "Hope- Helping Other Parents Endure" is a group for parents who are dealing with problems with teenage or adult children.

Christian author, songwriter and musician Kelly Minter will be the guest speaker at the Women's Spring Ministry Event at Hebron Baptist Church. The event begins at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, April 27

  • New Life After Divorce

This support group meets on Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m. at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church. For more information, click here.

Thursday, April 28

The Hebron Cut-ups are beginning provide quilts for members who are shut-ins or in the nursing home. The group sent dozens of quilts to Kentucky last year and have made more than 250 teddy bears for cancer patients. The group meets at 10 a.m.

Friday, April 29

  • Narcotics Anonymous

Narcotics Anonymous groups meet on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church in Modular A-2/4.  This is a group for men and women and there are no fees to join or attend.  Membership in NA is open to all drug addicts, regardless of the particular drug or combination of drugs used.

Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church hosts an Alcoholics Anonymous group meeting each Friday at 8 p.m. in Modular A-5.  This is a group is open to both men and women and there are no fees to join or attend.

Saturday, April 30

Dacula United Methodist Church will hold a BBQ from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The church is located at 2655 Fence Road in Dacula.
