Church News: Parenting Class, Marriage Class and Blood Drive

A closer look at the happenings of Dacula area churches.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 11

will host special services today to remember 9/11 as well as recognize and honor our public safety heroes.

For those who have suffered a recent loss, grief share group offers support. The group meets on Sundays at 5:30 p.m. in modular room A-1.

The children's worship and music choir will begin meeting again for the new year tonight, Sunday, Sept. 11 from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.

MONDAY, SEPT. 12

Join this support group that meets the second and fourth Sunday of the month in Modular A-3 at There will be special time for prayer and fellowship. Group meets from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Attend this network meeting at . This group meets in Modular A from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Derrick Marcus from the Georgia Department of Labor. Free childcare is provided but reservations are required.

Teens are invited to attend this recovery ministry group for teens and students dealing with life's hurts and addictions. The group meets at 6:45 p.m. in D210 at

Are you dealing with life's habit, hurts or hang ups?  Join Celebrate Recovery at on Monday nights. Dinner is served at 6 p.m. ($3 for adults, $1 children). The large group meets in Chapel at 6:30 p.m., small groups meet at 7:30 p.m. 

Small groups are available for obsessive compulsive disorders, alcohol addictions, adult children of alcoholics, sexual addictions, chemical dependency, survivors of physical, sexual and emotional abuse, eating disorders, depression, unforgiveness, freedom from anger, co-dependency, dealing with past/present guilt and shame.

 

TUESDAY, SEPT. 13

host Weight Watchers on Tuesday evenings. Weigh-in starts at 10 a.m. and meetings are at 10:30 a.m.

Al-Anon offers hope and help to families and friends of alcoholics. The group also includes Alateen for younger members. Participants whose lives have been affected by the alcohol problems of others can find solutions and support. The group meets each Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Modular A-1.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 14

Register to give blood as the LifeSouth Blood Drive comes to on Wednesday, Sept. 14. The blood drive will take place from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Register by calling 770-277-6024 ext. 488.

Are you currently caring for an elderly parent? This group offers support and solutions for those facing the issues associated with caring for an aging parent. The group meets each Wednesday from 6:45 - 8:15 p.m. at in modular room A-3.

Join the children of at 7 p.m. for games, songs, Bible lessons and small group sessions.

Visit on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. and take an in-depth look into the Bible.

Join members of on Wednesdays from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. for a bible study focusing on Ezekiel Chapter 22.

Join the prayer group at from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. each Wednesday. The group meets in the parlor of the church.

 

FRIDAY, SEPT. 16

If you would like to join this prayer group at to pray for our community and country, please attend a prayer meeting offered on Friday evenings at 7 p.m and Sundays at 9:30 a.m.

The Narcotics Anonymous group meets on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church in Modular A-2/4.  This is a group for men and women and there are no fees to join or attend.  Membership in NA is open to all drug addicts, regardless of the particular drug or combination of drugs used.

Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church hosts an Alcoholics Anonymous group meeting each Friday at 8 p.m. in Modular A-5.  This is a group is open to both men and women and there are no fees to join or attend.

Join the men of each Friday morning at 6 a.m. as they come together and pray for the church, families, the community and the country. Group meets in Founder's Hall.

 

SUNDAY, SEPT. 18

If you are interested in learning how to share your faith with your child you are encouraged to attend Pastor Ned Gable at the location student center for a fun class entitled "Leading Your Child to Christ. This class will begin at 12:30 p.m. Register via email.

Engaged couples are encouraged to attend this one-time informational class at Class may be followed by individually scheduled meetings. Class meets in Modular A Room 4. Register to attend by calling 770-277-6020 or via email.
