Dacula Drivers Could See Gas Prices Increase Slightly This Week

Prices at the pumps have remained relatively stable across the Southeast region but could see an uptick.

With the cost of a barrel of oil increasing on positive employment data, drivers could see gas prices move slightly higher this week after having remained relatively stable.

“Although the increase in oil demand hasn’t caused gas prices to spike, it has stalled the downward trend seen during the past couple of weeks," Jessica Brady, spokeswoman for AAA, said in a news release. “It’s too early to tell if motorists will start to see a consistent increase in gas prices as we enter the heart of summer, especially since oil prices have remained relatively stable between $90 and $95 a barrel.”

According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Georgia was $3.45 going into this week, up just a cent from $3.44 the previous week. The national average price of regular unleaded gasoline was $3.63, up from $3.62.
