Job Opening: Financial counselor

Company Information: Gwinnett Medical Center is a non-profit hospital located conveniently in Lawrenceville. GMC includes two hospitals and several other supporting medical facilities.

Job Description: Gwinnett Medical Center located in Lawrenceville is hiring a financial counselor. This employee will receive patients, complete patient registration, obtain appropriate consent, verify insurance and obtain precertifications/authorizations, requests payments and explain hospital payment policies to incoming patients.

Job Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED is required. Applicants should have experience with keyboards and demonstrate a high level of accuracy (minimum 25 WPM with 97% accuracy). Additional qualifications include a high aptitude for numeric and alpha filing and reading and sequencing of numbers. Previous experience with hospital financial counseling is a plus. Those certified as a patient account representative are preferred.
