"Little Mulberry Park is a key component of the greenspace we preserved when I served as County Administrator, so I’m especially glad that we can build these improvements that will make visiting the park even more enjoyable to use,” said Board Chairman Charlotte Nash after Tuesday's vote.

In March, Grant Guess, Division Director of Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation (GCPR) Project Administration, said the project should take 12 months to complete, weather permitting.

Gwinnett County issued the development permit for the new park phase on March 20. The section will include approximately 140 parking spaces, a pavilion, restroom facilities, trail access and a 19.4-acre, 18-hole disc golf course. A playground will also be constructed.

The entrance to the newest area of the popular Dacula park will be located on Hog Mountain Road between Patrick Road and Greenside Court.
