‘Disneyland of Gun Ranges,’ Worst Intersections in Dacula and Springtime Weather

A look at a few of the most notable stories this week on Dacula Patch.

Owner: Club Will Be ‘the Disneyland of Gun Ranges’

I enjoyed meeting with Verne Fowler last meet. It is always fun to meet people who truly love what they do and have a great enthusiasm for their work. Mr. Fowler is excited about the new gun range and I can see why. He has big plans for this facility and, based on what he showed me, I think it will be a fun place to visit. Keep checking Patch for the latest updates. If all goes well, Mr. Fowler should be able to break ground in early April.

Three Questions With the Mayor: The Worst Intersection in Dacula and More

A lot of people would agree with Mayor Wilbanks about the intersection at Highway 29 and Harbins/Dacula Road, but that is far from the only bad intersection in our area. Personally, I think the intersection of Hamilton Mill Road and Braselton Highway leaves a lot to be desired. Which Dacula intersection do you think is the worst?

The scary thing about this story is that I imagine most people probably do not lock the door between their house and the garage. What if this thief had decided to step inside this home? What if, like most people, the residents had keys, wallet, cell phone, etc. on the kitchen counter right inside the door? It’s a shame you have to lock everything down, but with criminals like this on the loose, what choice do you have?

Two Vehicles Shot at on Gravel Springs Road Near I-85 Overpass

Speaking of scary, imagine driving home from the mall and suddenly having your car window shatter. It is incredible that neither of these drivers was injured and perhaps even more incredible that neither was startled enough to cause an accident. I sincerely hope the Gwinnett County Police Department finds the person or persons responsible for this incredibly dangerous and reckless behavior.

Temperatures Expected to Hit the 70s This Weekend

Finally!! I am so glad we have some spring-like temperatures in the forecast. I know our local weather expert Steve Brueck is sad, but he’ll get over it. Right, Steve? Be sure to check Steve’s forecast, weather alerts and latest blog posts on our Dacula Patch weather page
