Expect Delays on I-85 This Weekend
Weekend work on Hwy. 316 will impact interstate traffic.
Motorists may encounter delays this weekend on I-85 according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. (www.dot.ga.gov)
Weekend work on Highway 316 will likely impact northbound traffic on I-85, officials advise. GDOT is encouraging motorists to avoid the area.
Roadwork will begin Friday, June 3 at 9 p.m. and continue through Monday, June 6 at 5 a.m. During this work period, one or two lanes of Highway 316 will be closed in order for crews to remove old asphalt, add new asphalt and stripe the lanes.

As part of this project, the outside lane of I-85 northbound will be extended to Sugarloaf Parkway to create additional room for traffic to merge onto Highway 316.
