Fire Truck Involved in Wreck, Hugh Jackman Movie Filming Locally and Miss America Flips Pancakes at Metro IHOP

Two people were injured in a three-car accident that involved a Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services fire truck in Canton on Thursday afternoon, authorities say.

According to a Cherokee Sheriff's Office press release, Shayla Croft, 20, of Canton was stopped on westbound Hickory Flat Highway while attempting to turn left on to Newton Fowler Lane at roughly 12:11 p.m. The initial investigation indicates that Ronald Clanton, 36, of Canton was also traveling on westbound Hickory Flat Highway and rear-ended Croft's Honda Accord.

The collision caused Croft's vehicle to travel into the opposing lane of traffic, where it was struck by the fire truck.

Tea Party: 'Organized Criminal Activity in This County' - Cartersville Patch

Bartow County Tea Party Director Gail Engelhardt and local resident Paul Nally, the pair who took a Bartow Schools board member to court, have filed another lawsuit, which takes aims at Cartersville City Schools employees and board members.

The allegations relate to Engelhardt's request to convene the grand jury to hear evidence of "alleged criminal activities" by the Bartow County school board and other county officials and subsequent happenings.

Wandering Goat Reunited With Owner - East Atlanta Patch

It's not everyday that you see a goat meandering along Glenwood Avenue.

But Doodles the goat managed to escape her pen and was spotted on Glenwood just east of the I-20 interchange in the Parkview neighborhood.

"My daughter, Laurel, is the one who started the process by stopping when the goat was nearly hit crossing Glenwood near I-20," Ormewood Park mom Dana Klest said.

Hugh Jackman Movie Filming Locally - Monroe Patch

If you see unusual action on Highway 78 just outside Monroe next week, don't be alarmed. It's likely to be film crews in town for some scenes from the Warner Bros movie "Prisoners," set to be released in September 2013.

Filming on the movie began this month in Conyers. "Prisoners" stars Golden Globe Award nominee Hugh Jackman, Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhall and two-time Golden Globe Award nominee Maria Bellow.

Miss America Flips Pancakes at Chamblee IHOP - Dunwoody Patch

Miss America Mallory Hytes Hagan was at the Chamblee Plaza IHOP on Tuesday as part of an awareness campaign for IHOP's National Pancake Day and the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
