GRTA: 'Solid and Pleasing' Start for Dacula Park and Ride
Officials release ridership numbers for the first month of service at Dacula park and ride and first day totals for the new Hamilton Mill facility.
Ridership at the is off to a good start according to an official with the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA).
Chief Public Relations Officer William M. Mecke described the numbers for July as “looking pretty good.”
GRTA Xpress Route 416 averaged 38 boardings a day last month. A boarding is recorded as each time a rider gets on the coach. Most riders will count as two boardings a day – one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

The peak day for ridership was Tuesday, July 19 when the service had 81 boardings.
“This is a solid and pleasing start,” Mecke said.

On Monday, GRTA Xpress service began at a second Dacula area park and ride. The on Sardis Church Road had 39 boardings on the first day for the Hamilton Mill to downtown route (Route 413).
Route 411, the Hamilton Mill/Mall of Georgia to midtown route, had 238 boardings.
“We’re very pleased with all these starts,” Mecke said.
