GRTA to Open Park and Ride Near Hebron
Georgia Regional Transportation Authority leasing space from church.
As work continues on the , the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA) is preparing to open a second Dacula-area park and ride on Hebron Church Road.
GRTA Chief Public Relations Officer William Mecke said the authority will be leasing 400 parking spaces from . The leased spaces will be in the lot bordered by Hebron Church Road, Dacula Road and Fence Road.
According to Mecke, GRTA will pay $10 per space per month. The authority plans to make some minor improvements to the lot including sidewalk work, a handicap accessible ramp and minor modifications to the existing shelter. Mecke expects the modifications to cost less than $3,000.

Service to downtown Atlanta will begin in June, Mecke said. Routes are still in the planning stage at this time.
GRTA had originally planned to construct a park and ride facility at Cedars Road. Mecke said the authority has decided not to build a new lot at this time.
