Gwinnett County Animal Control Now Hiring

According to one of the job posts, in 2011, Gwinnett's facility housed 8,287 animals.

Gwinnett County is hiring for three positions within its animal control department. These include: 

  • Animal welfare and enforcement section manager — Responsible for managing, overseeing, planning and evaluating the operations of the animal welfare and enforcement section. The section has 33 employees staffing a facility that includes administrative offices, animal shelter/housing units, a veterinary clinic and a community education room.   • Animal welfare kennel supervisor — Responsible for supervising staff and overseeing day to day activities associated with the enforcement of animal ordinances, public relations and care of animals.   • Animal control officer III/rescue adoption coordinator — This employee serves as a lead to staff to include assigning and monitoring work and providing direction while working in a specialty area such as animal bites, adoption/ rescues, animal cruelty or acting as a trainer.
