Accomplishment: Created “Cookies 4 a Cause” to raise money for Lighthouse Family Retreat, an organization that “serves children with cancer and their families at a seaside retreat to help them to laugh, restore family relationships, and find hope in God.”
Key to success: Cameron, Merritt, Claire, and Jordan came up with the idea and presented it to HCA’s headmaster (Rick Burslem) and Middle School principal (Bob Gardner). They held a bake sale every Thursday and Friday during their lunchtime throughout the month of September, which happens to be Childhood Cancer Awareness month. In total, the students collected $502.20.
