High School Hijinks, Domestic-Related Homicide and Upcoming SPLOST Vote

A look at a few of the most notable stories this week on Dacula Patch.

Dacula High Student Reportedly Brings Marijuana-Laced Brownies to School

If anyone ever did anything like this at my school, I never heard about it. I do recall an instance though when an upperclassman walked by while I was talking to a friend of mine. My friend had torn an Oneida ad out of a magazine that featured a cute little bunny eating a piece of lettuce off a fork. She had taped the ad to the inside of her locker. The guy -- who we soon realized was stoned out of his gourd -- froze when he saw the picture. Then he started laughing with what was apparently relief and said, “I thought the fork was eating the rabbit!” That was probably the most effective “Don’t do drugs” lesson I ever had as a teen.

We’ll see how voters feel about extending another existing penny sales tax in this year’s SPLOST vote. Are you happy with how your SPLOST dollars have been spent? Will you vote to extend the tax? Let me know in the comments.
