Is Your Christmas Tree Full of Memories?

Do you have ornaments that remind you of special people and events?

I usually put up two Christmas trees -- an upstairs formal one with white lights and the downstairs fun one with colored lights. Between the two of them, I have dozens of ornaments with stories and memories behind them.

For example, I have an ornament on my tree that was given to me by my high school Spanish teacher. That ornament has been on my tree every year since she gave it to me in ninth grade (which was longer ago than I care to admit). She was a very special lady who passed away this past year and the world is a less bright place without her in it.

I also have several ornaments my mother made before I was even born (those are definitely older than I care to admit). They are beautiful satin balls covered with jewelry, beads and sequins. They are important to me because my mother made them and they hold memories of every childhood Christmas.

Naturally I also have several ornaments my children have made over the years. Hopefully my son will not be offended, but the ornament pictured above is one my daughter made in kindergarten. The irony of it amuses me greatly.
