Here is what Brueck shared with Patch in an email interview:

What is your educational background?
I attended Hillsboro High School in Nashville, Tennessee and then went on to study at the University of Tennessee Knoxville.

Tell us a little about yourself, your interests, your accomplishments, what’s important to you…
I am very happily married to my wife Amy. I have two children, ages 22 and 19, and two stepdaughters, ages 20 and 18. I served as the president of Dacula Athletic Association twice and started on the baseball board before the new park was built. I started Dacula.com and brought online registration to Dacula back in 2000. I was the person behind the old Dacula Spring Fling, the April celebration we had for about four years at Dacula Park. We had a parade with all the children and the park was open for them to have a day to themselves. We had food, inflatables, vendors, live music and at the end of the day, one of the biggest fireworks displays around. Unfortunately, presidents that followed decided not to carry on the tradition.

I have been involved with technology since I started working. My first “real” job was maintaining hospital hematology equipment. After a year and a half of traveling, I moved to Atlanta and got a job working for a company that was installing an energy management/security system for DeKalb County School System. After working for the company for five years I was hired by the school system to manage the operation of the entire system. My responsibilities eventually shifted to network management as I installed the very first network in the school system and designed, installed and managed their 14,000 user GroupWise email system as well as designing and managing the facilities and maintenance  management computer system. Fast forward … I now work for Gwinnett County School System. I even worked as a first and second assistant in a surgical unit for two years in Nashville.

I have many interests. My first love has to do with cars, specifically my hobby called autocross. I’ve been involved in this sport on and off since 1973, when I arrived at college. I’ve attended the SCCA Solo National Championships about six times and finished in the top five three times but I have never won the big one. I’m still trying though and will be attending the next championship the first week in September in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Number two is probably my weather hobby. Weather watching and DaculaWeather.com keep me very busy when I’m not racing. My site has grown through four revisions over the last four years to contain more than 1200 pages of weather information and counting. The site has something for everyone, from the beginning weather watcher to the advanced meteorologist.  It is certainly one of the most extensive private weather sites in the southeast, if not the entire country.

And finally I’m a music collector and audiophile … I love my music! And yes, I’m VERY picky about quality. I’ve discovered that most people don’t really understand how to critically listen to music and miss out on the details that bring the music to life. I can give lessons!

What are your ties to Dacula Patch? How did you become involved with blogging here?
I started blogging through the Dacula Patch site and slowly began expanding. My blog is now carried by most of the Gwinnett County Patch sites (about eight of them). Kristi Reed from the Dacula Patch was kind enough to speak with the Barrow Patch editor and get me added there too. My weather station is located about four miles or so from the Barrow County line so even my live data is pertinent for residents of Barrow County.

Brueck's favorite quotation:

“Do unto others as you would have done unto you.”
