On Saturday, May 7, sky watchers can enjoy a special event at Dacula’s

From 3:30-5:30 a.m., visitors to Little Mulberry can view the Eta Aquarids meteor shower from the park’s observation area, one of the highest points in Gwinnett County. According to event organizers, the Eta Aquarids meteor shower is one of the two meteor showers each year caused when the Earth passes through the dust of Halley’s Comet.

Daniel Herron of the Atlanta Astronomy Club will be at the park with his telescope to talk with visitors about Eta Aquarids. The Atlanta Bread Company will provide a continental breakfast after the meteor shower.
